Alert Triggers

Introduction to Alert Triggers

On publication of an alert, the Safeture Platform will automatically send an incident alert to the following people:

End users positioned within the impact area

The Safeture platform will automatically send an alert to all end users whose latest reported position is located within any of the incident's impact areas. The end users’ location reflects their privacy settings set in the Safeture mobile application. We recommend enabling the exact location to get as relevant alerts as possible.

An impact area can consist of one or more locations with a specific radius. The radius size is dynamic and determined by the risk intelligence supplier’s analytical team. An area may also encompass one or more regions, such as a country or specific regions within a country.

End users with an upcoming travel booking

End users will receive alerts based on upcoming travel bookings, enabling proactive travel risk management. The alerts’ timeframe and radius will depend on whether the departure or arrival location is affected:

Arrival locations: Travelers will start receiving alerts about any incidents at their destination 72 hours before arrival up until 4 hours after the scheduled arrival time. These alerts will remain active in the system until 4 hours after the scheduled arrival time. Incidents within a 50km radius of the airport, hotel, train station or rental car location will trigger an alert for the traveller.

Departure locations: Travelers will start receiveing alerts about any incidents occurring at the departure location (i.e., the location they are traveling from) from 24 hours before the time of departure until 4 hours after departure from that location. The radius for these alerts will cover a 5km distance.

End users who have marked a country as a favourite

End users who have marked a country as a favourite in the country information section of the app will receive newly published alerts for that country even if they are not travelling to, or are located within, that country.

Assets near an incident - alerts to admins

Administrators responsible for end-user safety will receive alerts regarding incidents near assets such as people or facilities. These alert notifications will be sent to administrators via email and can also be configured to be sent via SMS. The email notification is titled "Personnel in Incident Region," and you can find more details about its content here.
