Alerts in the Safeture Platform provide information about incidents that may affect the health, safety, security, or travel of users. Depending on the situation, an alert may be relevant to a user for several different reasons.
Your location is affected by the alert
When an incident occurs, the Risk Intelligence Provider defines an impact radius representing the geographical area affected by the incident. If your reported location is within this area, you may be considered affected by the alert. The size of the impact radius depends on the type and potential impact of the incident.
You are in a country affected by the alert
Not all incidents are limited to a small geographical area. You may also see an alert because it concerns the country where you are currently located. Political developments, nationwide disruptions, disease outbreaks, and similar events may affect an entire country or a larger region.
You have a trip to the affected destination
You may see an alert because you have an upcoming or ongoing trip to an affected destination.
If your travel information connects you to a destination affected by an incident, alerts concerning that destination can help you stay informed before and during your trip.
Your organization has a facility in the affected area
You may also see alerts related to facilities belonging to your organization.
When a facility is located within an alert's affected geographical area, the alert can help you and your organization understand which locations and people may potentially be affected by the incident.
Which alerts are available?
The risk intelligence available to you in Safeture depends on the Risk Intelligence Content Suppliers used by your organization.
Safeture supports multiple external Risk Intelligence Content Suppliers, which provide alerts covering incidents such as political developments, crime, disease outbreaks, terrorism, conflict, infrastructure disruptions, and other health, safety, security, and travel-related events.
Your organization's administrators can also add custom risk intelligence, including custom alerts.
Seeing an alert does not necessarily mean you will receive a notification
Seeing an alert in the Safeture Platform and receiving a notification about it are not necessarily the same thing.
Different notification channels and alert types may have specific criteria determining when a notification is sent. As a result, you may be able to see an alert without receiving a notification about it.
Similarly, whether you, a trip, or a facility are considered affected can depend on the geographical information available and the characteristics of the individual alert.
