How Does User Location Tracking Work?

Safeture uses location data from mobile devices (GPS, Wi-Fi, and cell towers) as well as travel booking information to track users. This location data is continuously uploaded to Safeture’s servers, depending on your device's internet access and location service settings.

The location data helps determine which alerts are sent to your device. If enabled by your employer, it can also be used to locate you in emergency situations.

For the app to function optimally, it should be allowed to run in the background.

  • On iOS, avoid "swipe-killing" the app, as this will cause irregular location updates.

  • On Android, some devices or apps automatically close background apps after a few days through battery optimization features. Users should disable these optimizations to ensure accurate location reporting and to receive push notifications.
