What features of the app can I use without internet access?
The Safeture app supports sharing your location even when internet access is unavailable, provided your mobile device can still send SMS. The app also stores key information offline for easy access anytime.
Sharing Location Without Internet Access
Check-In Button
Press the Check-In button on the app’s home page. If you’re offline, select Try using SMS to send your location via SMS to the Safeture platform, allowing your admin to see your position.
Emergency Button
In an emergency, you can still share your location and activate emergency mode. Press the SOS button on the assistance page, and after a five-second countdown, the app will open your SMS dialog to send your position to the Safeture platform, notifying your admin.
Offline Content Access
Most app information is stored offline and accessible without internet access, including:
Local emergency numbers and assistance provider contacts
Alerts (limited to “My Alerts”)
Travel itineraries
Note: Information may become outdated if the device remains offline for extended periods.
Other Offline Data Access
Certain information is downloaded only when you open a specific page:
Country information (except live news; only news headings are stored offline)
Medical databases
Global alert list
Currency converter rates
Provider details, such as hospitals and hotels (last search only)
Country-specific information is downloaded one country at a time to manage data efficiently. Accessing each country’s page in the app will save that data for offline use.
