Additional improvements to alerts: Alert publishing status
Release date: 2024-09-10
In the next few weeks, we will introduce an enhanced alert user experience to help users better comprehend the reasons for receiving alerts. The aim is to adress the frequent user inquiries stemming from what seem to be delayed alert notifications.
Moving forward, alerts will be clearly labeled in all communications to indicate wheter they are upcoming, active, or inactive.
Different alert publishing statuses
Active: A current ongoing alert within its start and end date. As long as an alert is still active, new users who enter the affected area will be notified, even after the initial publication. This includes users who travel into the affected area and those whose travel bookings become active with an arrival or departure location within the affected area.
Inactive: The alerts will become inactive at 23:59 (UTC) on their end date.
Upcoming: In cases where advance information is available, we will publish alerts up to three days before the planned event to help users stay informed and take necessary precautions.
The new user experience (UX) will be implemented gradually over the next few weeks, beginning with the web portal, SMS and email sendouts and Android app, followed by the iOS app.
